Thought Render

Overview

My name is Deriv Diggs and I'm the founder and chief engineer of Thought Render. I've been creating websites, RIAs, kiosks, desktop applications, games, and mobile applications using Adobe AIR/Flash/Flex/Flash Builder/HTML5/CSS3/Javascript. Twelve years ago, before focusing on development, I was a senior designer at Grey Interactive (at the time the interactive division of Grey Advertising) in New York City. Therefore, in addition to my skills as a programmer, I'm extremely proficient with the entire Adobe CS suite of programs especially Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and Dreamweaver. I won the Adobe Site of the Day award for April 11, 2009 for:

My extensive knowlege of both Flash and Jquery/Javascript, gives me the ablitiy to turn your Flash projects into html5 without loosing effects or functionality. I can also use Flash to change your web applications into native applications for the desktop and for mobile devices.

In addition to front end technologies, I have experience programming php, Python, and mySQL, and have extensive experience building dynamic projects that get their content from a variety of backend technologies. Please find my resume, portfolio, and contact information by scrolling down or using the menu at the top.

You can see the code for this website, http://thoughtrender.com/music, http://thoughtrender.com/SLWEB, and a small Python example at my home on Github:

Most of the work on this site requires the Adobe Flash Plugin to view. Please come back with a Flash enabled browser. Also, you can check out my music site, which is 100% HTML 5 and requires no plugin to view:

ADEN ENTERPRISES Navigaton

My pitch for this navigation design won us the Aden Enterprises contract. They even allowed me to put in an ‘Easter egg’… can you find it?

LEVAQUIN Navigaton

Each of the doctor’s images are external files so that the client could easily change them. They load in, dynamically, in order as they slide into the stage.

SAWAYA SEGALAS Home Navigaton

These 3 pieces helped me win an Adobe Site of the Day award for April 11, 2009. The images and news content on the left side, is dynamic and inserted via XML. On the right side, I conserved space but hiding the tab of the currently showing page.

In order to conserve space, when a person’s bio is selected, that person slides down off of the navigation until another person is selected.

SAWAYA SEGALAS Transaction Page

Sawaya Segalas wanted to display a large amount of data and allow users to sort the data via the categories at the top of the chart. Since this data is frequently changing, I used xml. If you’re curious here is what the .xml data looks like.

Pantene Screensaver

This screensaver was downloaded hundreds of thousands of times from the Pantene website. I packaged it to work on both Mac and PC at any desktop size and resolution. The colors and design are completely random. The call to action at the bottom would launch the user’s web browser and take them to a registration page.
